There
is no such thing as a secure job these days, and even if there is, it is way
below your pay grade. Today’s job market thrives on dynamism, on continuous
movement. To survive in it, you must do the same, and do make sure you’re
upwardly mobile while you’re at it. The question you should be asking yourself
isn’t ‘How do I get a “secure” job?’
Instead, you should be finding a way to secure your future. Job security is
getting rarer and rarer, but financial security is still within reach.
For
this reason, you need to strategize. Don’t concentrate on keeping your job;
that’s important, but it’s not your only consideration. You also need to make
sure that the choices you are making right now are right for the future that
you want for yourself, so keep your eyes open for new opportunities. Be wise
and prudent, and getting a secure job
(i.e. one that secures your future), will be no problem at all.
